Professor at the Department of Veterinary Clinic and Surgery, FCAV - UNESP, Jaboticabal - SP - Brazil. In 2000 started the service 'Nutritional Suport for dogs and cats' at the Veterinary Hospital of FCAV-UNESP. Carciofi is a member of the board of the Brazilian College of Animal Nutrition (CBNA) and of the Technical Committee of ANFALPET (National Association of Pet Food Manufacturers of Brazil). Built and is the coordinator of the first laboratory to studies of dogs and cats in Brazil.

- Galen J. Rockey
Director of Process for the application group of food for pets of Wenger Manufacturing Inc, USA. Wenger working on since 1973 and in 1983 became Director of Technology Centre Wenger, a laboratory dedicated to research and development in agricultural foods. Former member of the AACC (American Association of Cereal Chemists) and IFT (Institute of Food Technologists). Author of numerous publications on the extrusion process and won the Mu Alpha Distiguinshed Service in Extrusion Technology from Kansas State University in 1990 .
 

> John M. Rawlings - WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition, UK.

Graduated from Glasgow University with a bachelor's degree in physiology, MSc by research in gastrointestinal physiology from Glasgow University and then from Manchester University, PhD in epithelial transport mechanisms. Worked for four years as a post-doctoral Research Fellow for Zeneca in their Central Toxicology Laboratory. In 1994, joined WALTHAM (Mars) as a Project Scientist in clinical nutrition studying canine and feline diabetes and renal failure. Became a Research Manager in 1996 responsible for the areas of oral hygiene and the physiology of cat feeding behaviour. As a Senior Research Manager, leds teams of scientists studying the rôle of antioxidants in health and disease, research in to development and ageing, and metabolism and obesity in dogs and cats. Since 2008 has had accountability for ensuring that our business units across the world comply with our animal research policy and care guidelines. Currently, has 100 publications, 41 of which are full peer-reviewed papers, with 13 of these having first authorship.

Formada em Engenharia de Alimentos com mestrado pela UNICAMP, trabalha no CETEA (Centro de Tecnologia de Embalagem) do ITAL (Intituto de Tecnologia de Alimentos) em Campinas - SP há 27 anos. At the same institution got his masters degree and doctorate in nutrition of dogs and cats. Worked at Perdigao S / A as nutritionist. His areas of interest are: general nutrition, feed evaluation, processing ingredients in feed mills.

Professor at Santa Catarina Federal University - Brazil, Departament of Food's Science and Technology. Post-Doc on Multi-toxins and Masked Toxins by QTOF-LC/MS - EVIRA/Helsinki, Finland (2008); Post-Doc on Mycotoxin Analysis by LC-MS/MS tandem - VWA/Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2005); PhD on Food Science - University of Reading, Reading/Berks/United Kingdom (1995). Previous Editions of the CBNA Pet Congress:

 


The 'International Congress and Symposium on Nutrition for Dogs and Cats "is held by the Brazilian College of Animal Nutrition - CBNA, under direction of Dr. Godfrey Miltenburg and technical coordination of Prof. Dr. C. Aulus Carciofi. It lasts two days, is annual and traditionally brings national and international speakers to talk about technical issues of the pet food industry. Focussed on the advances and emerging issues in the area is geared towards technical specialist.

It's held for 10 years, traditionally in Campinas. In 2011 will take place at the Events Center San Luis in Sao Paulo. The big news is that the event is linked to three other related events: I Expo Pet Food, SICOBESP's annual Workshop and FENAGRA FAIR.

There were 234 participants from different states and some from abroad.

In 2010 it was first held at UNICAMP and this site has not been well evaluated by participants. It was considered an area of difficult access and badly signposted. This was one of the reasons for moving CBNA pet Congress 2011 to Avenida Paulista, SP.

 

There was a pre-congress, with the course "Food safety and HACCP GMP," taught by Angela P. Missaglia of Sindirações.
